Welcome to the web site of PAFIS, the Peoria Area Friends of International Students.

PAFIS's purpose is to bring together individuals and organizations in order to:

• provide for students of other lands a maximum educational and cultural experience and an understanding of American life;
• provide the local community with opportunities to know and understand the students and appreciate the cultures of their respective countries; and
• help international students know and use the resources of our community and country.

This site provides information for international students, current PAFIS members, and those interested in becoming a PAFIS member. PAFIS's Friendship Partner program is an important part of PAFIS's outreach to international students. The program provides non-residential assignments of Bradley students to Friendship Partners at the beginning of the academic year and other times if necessary.

Friendship Partners invite their students to their home for meals, for weekends and to various events attended by their family. Friendship Partners are also willing to discuss personal and other problems with their students. In this way, Friendship Partners offer students a feeling of "home away from home".
